About the Treatment

Causes of hair loss
Understanding hair loss is essential for finding the right treatment and restoring confidence. Hair loss can result from genetics, hormonal changes, stress, medical conditions, or poor hair care habits. Recognizing the early signs—such as thinning, receding hairlines, or excessive shedding—can help you take proactive steps.

What is FoLix?
FoLix is the first FDA-cleared fractional laser treatment specifically designed to combat hair loss for men and women. It fits seamlessly into anyone’s lifestyle. Non-surgical, no chemicals, minimal discomfort, quick treatments, no needles, no downtime, with clinically proven results!

Who is a good candidate for FoLix?
FoLix is an excellent hair restoration choice for individuals with thinning hair or hair loss, when the hair follicle is still in good condition and when it can be stimulated into its natural growth phase. FoLix can be an effective treatment for androgenic alopecia, also known as male or female pattern baldness. It may also be used to treat other forms of hair loss, such as alopecia areata or telogen effluvium, a common problem that affects postpartum moms. Even for those who are looking to increase their hair density or to maintain their hair volume, FoLix is a great option to prevent ongoing hair loss and, ultimately, improve one's confidence.
Who is not a candidate for FoLix?
Although the majority of individuals are candidates for FoLix treatment, individuals with an active infection or recent sunburn of their scalp should not undergo FoLix treatment until these problems are resolved.
What are the benefits of FoLix?
FoLix helps stimulate natural hair regrowth, decrease hair loss, and increase hair density and thickness. It can also be used to treat hair loss and promote hair growth. Clinical studies show 10-18% increase in number of hairs per cm2 and 13-16% additional follicular units per cm2.

How is the treatment done?
After a full assessment with our provider, your scalp will be cleaned and areas to be treated will be marked. The FoLix laser will be applied to the scalp to deliver gentle microbeams of laser light to stimulate hair growth. Through promoting blood circulation and growth factors activity, the hair follicles will be activated. Coupled with a built-in cooling mechanism on the device tip, the FoLix treatment is designed to minimize any discomfort. Each session lasts approximately 30 minutes, but individual treatments vary based on the size of area to be treated.
How long to see results? How many treatments are needed?
You may start seeing results after just the first treatment. However, to achieve optimal and long lasting results, a series of treatment is required. Typically, a series of 4-6 treatments spaced several weeks apart is recommended for desirable results. The number of treatments required will depend on the severity of the hair loss and the individual's response to the treatment. Hair does grow slowly and, therefore, results take time. Results noticed throughout the treatment series may include reduced shedding and appearance of baby hairs.

How long is recovery?
Good news! Unlike surgical hair restoration, FoLix is non-surgical and there is zero downtime with no bleeding or bruising. The experience is often described as a warm prickling sensation that lasts for a couple of hours after each session. Mild redness and swelling can be transiently seen in some individuals. Â You may pretty much return to your daily routine afterwards. To protect your scalp after the treatment, avoid excessive sun exposure and hair treatments, such as dyes, perms, extensions (although you won't be needing these anymore!) for one week.
How do I keep up the results?
After the full series of the FoLix treatment, it is recommended to maintain your results with ongoing treatment every 3-4 months. Hair loss and thinning is part of the aging process and can be affected by a number of factors, specifically genetics, hormone balance, medication, nutritional status, stress and environmental exposure. In addition to FoLix, optimizing the overall health of the individual and their scalp is key to maintaining a full set of beautiful hair.
