Meet Dr. Judy Wei M.D., FACOG

Dr. Judy Wei is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, a fellowship trained advanced laparoscopic surgeon, a cosmetic gynecologist and a perfectionist who strives to provide the best care for her patients.

Dr. Wei comes from a family of doctors, and was inspired by her father, Dr. Jeng Wei, to also pursue a career in medicine. Her father is a world-renowned cardiovascular surgeon who performed the first successful heart transplant in southeast Asia, as well as the world’s first total artificial heart transplant. Dr. Judy Wei wanted to follow in his footsteps and to also make a difference in the lives of patients she cared for. She later discovered that her passion was in women’s health.

Dr. Wei graduated with honors from Keck Medical School of USC with an M.D. degree in 2006. She went on to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center in 2010, where she received the USC Medical Student Teaching Award, the Nurses’ Choice Award for Excellence in Patient Care, and was awarded Special Resident in Minimally Invasive Gynecology.

Dr. Wei subsequently completed a two-year fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at Keck Medical Center of USC, specializing in advanced laparoscopy and robotic surgery with a focus on endometriosis and pelvic pain syndrome. She was recruited to Keck Medical Center as Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. As the Education Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery, Dr. Wei helped develop the curriculum for minimally invasive surgery. She trained medical students, residents, and fellow physicians advanced laparoscopic skills in the classroom, animal lab, and operating room settings. Pasadena Magazine voted Dr. Wei a Top Doctor in 2013 and 2014.

Any free moment she has, Dr. Wei spends with her soul mate, Tony, and their three beautiful children. She is an animal lover: mom to two dogs, three cat and a parrot! She enjoys singing, cooking, and searching for beautiful art pieces and unique plants for her office.
