Hyaluronic Acid Fillers: Juvederm, Restylane, Belatero


What is it?

Hyaluronic acid filler is a type of injectable filler that is used to add volume, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance facial features. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to hydrate and plump the skin.


Fillers are moisture-binding substances that help the skin stay plump and hydrated. When injected beneath the skin, the hyaluronic acid creates a smoothing effect filling out lines and softening creases. The effects of dermal fillers last between 8 – 18 months.


Who is a good candidate? Who is NOT a candidate?

Good candidates for hyaluronic acid filler are adults who want to enhance their facial features or reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Patients should be in good health and have realistic expectations about the results of the treatment.


Patients who have an active infection in the treatment area, a bleeding disorder, or a history of severe allergic reactions should not receive hyaluronic acid filler injections.


What kind of conditions does it treat?

Hyaluronic acid filler can be used to treat a variety of cosmetic concerns, including smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines, adding volume to the cheeks, lips, temples etc. and filling in hollow areas of the face.It can also be used on body parts, including vulvar area.


How is the treatment done?

During the treatment, the doctor will inject hyaluronic acid filler into the targeted area using a fine needle or cannula. The procedure is generally quick and relatively painless, and patients can usually return to their daily activities immediately after the treatment. Detailed post-care insturction will be provided at the time of treatment.


How long will it take to see results?

Results from hyaluronic acid filler injections can usually be seen immediately after the treatment, and the effects typically last six to 18 months, depending on the individual and the area treated. 


Why do the procedure/benefits?How long is recovery? What does it look like? (Bruising, swelling, etc.)
